LIONS RECYCLE FOR SIGHT AUSTRALIA INC.

The Lions Recycle for Sight program started some years ago and they have their own building at the Redcliffe Showgrounds. It has delivered over 7 million pairs or refurbished quality spectacles to men, women and children in need, in countries like Africa, Europe the Middle East and Asia. The programme is supported by approximately 1000 plus Lions & Lioness’s Clubs within Australia.
The Centre receives approximately 500,000 spectacles & sunglasses each year -once sorted, cleaned etc they are given to approximately 450,000 men, women and children in third world countries improving their ability to see. The Centre takes any type of spectacles even if broken or damaged. Volunteer optometrists process them ready for use.
The benefit of the programme is to enable children to see to be educated & adults to see to work to support their families at no cost.
The program delivers $100 million of humanitarian aid annually.
